DAVID LAKHDHIR
CHAIR - BOARD OF TRUSTEES
DAVID LAKHDHIR, a partner in the international law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP for over 30 years, was co-head of his firm’s office in London for nearly 20 years and in the 1990s the partner-in-charge of its office in Tokyo. He has particular expertise in cross-border corporate acquisitions, investments, and joint ventures. He is currently an adjunct professor at Columbia Law School, teaching a course on international business.
Mr. Lakhdhir also serves as a Director of Human Rights Watch, Inc. and of the National Committee on American Foreign Policy, and as a member of the advisory Council of JUSTICE, a U.K. legal reform organization. He is a past Chair of the International Law Committee of the New York City Bar Association, and currently serves on its Council on International Affairs. An honors graduate of both Harvard College and Harvard Law School, he served as a Teaching Fellow in the Government Department and as a Law Tutor at Harvard, and after graduation, spent a year as a Visiting Scholar at the Indian Law Institute in New Delhi.
