Full-time faculty at Psychology Department

Position: Full-time faculty of MA in Psychology

Location: American University of Central Asia

Type of work: full-time, 1-year contract

Start of work: August 1st, 2025

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Teaching graduate and undergraduate courses related counseling, psychotherapy and/or research in psychology
  • Oversee of internship processes of master students
  • Service to the university and the department
  • Participation in work with stakeholders of the program: partner organizations etc.

 

Eligibility criteria:

  • PhD, Candidate of science, or related degree (candidates with a master-level degrees might be selected for interview in case of substantial practical or research experience)
  • Good command of English
  • Practical experience in psychology or counseling
  • Teaching experience in psychology or related fields, preferably at graduate level

Full-Time Professor in History of Kyrgyzstan at AUCA

The General Education Department at the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) invites applications for a full-time faculty position in History of Kyrgyzstan. We are seeking an accomplished and dedicated educator with demonstrated teaching experience and academic expertise in the History of Kyrgyzstan.

 

Position Title: Full-Time Professor in History of Kyrgyzstan
Department: General Education
Location: American University of Central Asia, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach undergraduate courses in the History of Kyrgyzstan
  • Develop syllabi, lectures, and educational materials in line with AUCA’s liberal arts curriculum.
  • Contribute to the design and enhancement of the General Education history curriculum.
  • Coordinate preparation and implementation of State Examination materials in history.
  • Participate actively in departmental meetings, university service, and collaborative initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in History of Kyrgyzstan.
  • At least five years of successful teaching experience at the university level.
  • Demonstrated commitment to student-centered teaching and academic excellence.
  • Evidence of active scholarship or research potential in the field.
  • Ability to contribute to the academic community through service and collaboration.
  • Proficient command of academic English.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Department of Economics

Office Manager

Position: Full-Time

The Economics Department at the American University of Central Asia is looking to hire an Office Manager to be responsible for the general operation of the department. The Office Manager closely works with the Head of Department and reports to the Chair by preparing, processing, and maintaining documents, working with faculty and students, supporting the teaching process, providing assistance to the departmental activities and events, and providing assistance in admission process.

University Information: AUCA is a liberal arts English-speaking university with a diverse student body and faculty, which new 2015 campus is located in Bishkek, the multinational capital city of Kyrgyzstan, among picturesque mountainous landscapes. Most AUCA departments offer joint degrees with Bard College of USA. 

Office Manager responsibilities: 

  • Overseeing the general office operation and closely work with the Head of the Department.
  • Organizing departmental activities and events such as meetings, ambassador talks, public lectures, and workshops. 
  • Working with academic databases and preparing course schedules.
  • Ordering stationery and necessary materials.
  • Dealing with correspondence, complaints, and queries.
  • Preparing various memos, letters, presentations, and reports.
  • Communicating with other staff, faculty members, students, applicants, parents, and other guests. 
  • Working with social media pages (such as Facebook and Instagram) of the department.
  • Implementing other office duties and assist to the department chair in department activities. 

Expectations:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Office Management experience.
  • Excellent computer skills, including a high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in Kyrgyz, English, and Russian languages. 
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills particularly in dealing with people from different backgrounds in a professional collegial way,
  • Fast-paced, responsive, punctual, good attention to detail, organized, and systematic.
